Lightning Blackjack Game Overview
The minimum bet available in Lightning Blackjack is £2.
The maximum bet in this game is £5,000.
Card Values
In Lightning Blackjack, cards numbered from 2 to 10 are worth their face value.
Face cards are worth 10; these are Jacks, Queens and Kings.
Aces can either be valued at 1 or 11, and will adopt the number that benefits your hand more.
A soft hand features an Ace valued at 11.
All players will receive one card face-up following the expiration of the allotted betting time, ending with the dealer. Next, a second face-up card is dealt to all players, however the dealer's second card remains face-down. You will be able to view the value of your hand alongside your cards.
Blackjack
Should your first two cards total 21, you win Blackjack and trigger a payout worth 3:2.
Lightning Rules
On all initial bets in this game, an extra 100% Lightning fee must be placed. This gives you the opportunity to win a multiplier on your following hand.
Lightning fees are not applicable to the Double Down and Split bets.
Multipliers
Achieving a win in any round will cause the payout from the following round to be upgraded.
Multipliers will be displayed after each round, once bets have been closed for every winning hand result. Your next hand will have multipliers applied to them if you win with any of the following: ‘17 and below’, 18, 19, 20, 21 or Blackjack.
All of the winning hands in this game trigger a random multiplier worth between 2x and 25x your bet. Should you leave the game after winning a multiplier, this multiplier can still be used if you return within the next 180 days.
The multiplier only covers your bet in the amount of the Lightning fee that was paid in the round that you unlocked the multiplier. Placing a bigger bet results in a regular Blackjack payout being applied to the excess amount. You can only win with a multiplier that correlates to the size of a lower bet if you place one of these.
If you decide to Split in this game, and both hands are successful, the hand with the best score will trigger the multiplier. The Lightning multiplier will be decided by the highest winning hand. On Split or Double Down bets, you are not charged an extra fee.
If you win in the game round that follows, the payout will be multiplied by the multiplier. So if you have Blackjack and a multiplier, only the multiplier is applied.
In the event of either a push or an Insurance bet winning while a multiplier is active, your main bet is returned, however you lose your Lightning fee and multiplier.
Insurance
Insurance can be purchased if the dealer's initial card is an Ace. This protects your hand against the chance of the dealer having Blackjack.
You must select ‘Yes’ to make an Insurance bet, and this is priced at half of your initial Blackjack wager.
After the dealer checks their face-down card to see if they have Blackjack, you will double your Insurance wager if they do.
If you and the dealer both have Blackjack, it results in a push and your wager will be returned. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, your Insurance bet will be forfeited and the game proceeds as normal.
Making a Decision
When you are dealt your first two cards, you must play one of the following decisions: Hit, Stand, Double Down or Split.
If betting time expires and you've not made a decision, it is interpreted that you want to Hit if your hand is worth 11 or less, and Stand if it is 12 or greater.
If your hand is worth 21, you win Blackjack and will not have to make any of these decisions.
Double Down
You can Double Down on your initial wager if your hand is not worth 21.
Should you elect to do this, you must double your bet. You will then receive only one more card from the dealer.
Hit or Stand
If you wish to receive another card from the dealer, choose to Hit.
On the other hand, if you are happy with the total of your hand, you can Stand and you will not be dealt any further cards.
Split
Should your first two cards have an equal value, you can Split them to create two separate hands.
Splitting Aces means you can only receive one more card on each of these hands.
You cannot Double Down if you've decided to Split.
It is not possible to Split more than once on any hand.
Dealer's Hand
The live dealer will show the value of their second card after all of the players at the table have made their decisions.
If the dealer's hand is worth 16 or less they must Hit, and if their hand is valued at soft 17 or greater, they have to Stand.
The Game Outcome
In order to win, the value of your final hand must be nearer to 21 than the dealer's.
If your hand is worth the same as the dealer's, it is a push and your stake will be returned.
Blackjack can only be won using your first two cards; if you Split and one of these hands is worth 21, it is not classed as Blackjack. As a result, Blackjack will always beat a hand worth 21 from Split cards.
Your cards will bust if their total is more than 21, and you lose your stake.
